Alanna and I got together to do a maternity milk bath session. She has an amazing bathtub with big windows, so we were able to use natural sunlight and one reflector. This was so much fun to set up and shoot! We chose some of our favourite flowers and eucalyptus leaves which smelled amazing. We used one bottle of powdered coffee creamer to make the water milky. Would you like to do a milk bath shoot? It doesn’t have to be for maternity!

For the outdoor portion of this shoot, we planned on using a location that is known for bear sightings and even has bear signs everywhere. Lots of people frequent the path with their families and dogs. We stayed on the path not too far away from the car and got a few shots. The very place we were shooting on the path where the light was coming through the trees actually had a pile of bear poop. Suddenly we heard the loudest *crack* of branches maybe about 15 feet away from us. One person walking by scooped up their little dog and hurried back. Alanna grabbed her very pregnant belly, and I grabbed my camera and we ran to the car without looking back. The noise was definitely not made by a dog in the bushes! With our hearts pounding, we drove down the road a bit farther and found another cool spot just off the main road and stopped again. We were probably shooting for under 10 more minutes and I had this feeling that I needed to look down this path. I actually saw a black bear in the distance. I turned to Alanna and just said “we’re leaving!” She knew what I meant and we ran back to the car again. My camera bag got stuck on the ground for a second so that worried me briefly. The only reason we ran and didn’t freeze was because the bear hadn’t seen us at all and it was really far away. Well that was fun. We came across two wild animals in one day. This reminds me of our other outdoor shoot adventures with wild animals!
